央视制作的大型文化节目《诗画中国》中，香港艺人张卫健参与录制的《诗经·国风·唐风》部分于11月20日播出。
当天，张卫健在微博中分享为什么会选择《诗经》这个主题。 张卫健写道，“我觉得《诗经》作为中国古代诗歌的开端，有很重要的地位和意义，也是#诗画中国#一定要有的主题。”
至于为什么选择《唐风图》，张卫健表示第一次看到南宋画家马和之的《唐风图》，就被惊艳到了。张卫健描述，“它不仅仅是一幅画、一个场景，而是一个8米多的长卷。画了十二段图，把《诗经》中的场景、名物以画面的形式呈现在我们眼前。让诗句中的花草鸟虫都生动起来，让我们能够更生动的读懂《诗经》讲了什么。我也希望通过音乐的融入让更多现代人有兴趣去了解《诗经》的内容。”
信奉天主教的张卫健，是愿意公开对人见证天父的艺人。他曾经告白：“我今天拥有的一切，包括事业、家庭、家人的健康、财富以及朋友等等，一切皆是天主所赐。”
曾在采访中谈及事奉及福传的使命，张卫健分享过，“在第二次参加新秀歌唱比赛的时候，我单纯地向天主承诺：若我能胜出，我会为天主建造一座教堂。这个承诺一直未有实现，对于当时年少气盛的我来说，没想到，原来建造一座教堂是很复杂的事情。”
“后来参演了《流芳百世》，从圣人方济各的信仰中得到启示，世上每一处地方都是天主的圣所。我虽未能建造一座真正的教堂，但是我可以在我的戏剧、歌词或谈话、行为中给人刻骨铭心的记忆，将教堂建在人的心中。也因着这份使命感让我觉得自己要做更多的福传及事主工作。”
今年年初，56岁的张卫健在《追光吧！》节目中凭借出色的表现获得了“最强追光者”称号，大家对他的努力和表演看在眼里，一致认为他得到这个称号当之无愧。他对待每一个节目都认真而拼尽全力，而且愿意虚心跟年轻后辈学习；他的表演很用心，力求每一个演出都能打动观众；同时，张卫健为人幽默风趣，常常给节目现场带去很多欢快的氛围。俨然是人们生活的一道“光”。事后接受采访，他也多次谈到“爱”。
张卫健多年来不仅借助文化领域去传扬“爱”这个主题，并且通过各种各样的方式“活出自己的信仰”。他在拍戏时，无论是吃盒饭，去大排档，还是五星级酒店、飞机餐等都坚持做饭前祈祷（画十字圣号）；他在给粉丝签名时会写下加上“主佑”两字，如有不信主的人问是什么意思，他就可以解释；张卫健觉得也算是一种无声的福传。
大家都知道娱乐圈有一习俗，拍剧或者开演唱会之前有一个拜神仪式，寓意各项工作顺利。张卫健这个时候总是坚持站在一旁祈祷，不作参拜。他认为，“信仰要有一份坚持，用自己的行动和习惯展示给身边的人：我是天主教徒。”
